Maryknoll Lay Missioners (MKLM) is a Catholic organization inspired by the mission of Jesus to live and work in poor communities in Africa, Asia, and the Americas, responding to basic needs and helping to create a more just a compassionate world.
Maryknoll Lay Missioners' Circle of Compassion
Our principal work is to serve the poor. We do this by sending Maryknoll Lay Missioners to act on their faith in Jesus, living in and working with marginalized communities throughout the world. There, hands, hearts, minds and souls join to raise the quality of life by making sustainable improvements in healthcare, the environment, education, civil and human rights and economic development.
Our pastoral ministries in these communities, and the sharing of stories transforms the lives of our Lay Missioners, the persons and families in the communities we serve, our supporters who give generously of their time, money and prayers and our dedicated MKLM staff. Each person's contribution to this work helps to form a Circle of Compassion. Together our spiritual lives are raised to the highest levels of human fulfillment as we join to build a just and peaceful world.
